Q: What should I bring?

A: Bedding, sheets, a pillow, duvet or Sleeping Bag; Good outdoor cloths: Warm sweater or jacket, rain gear; Foot wear: gum boots, indoor shoes/slippers; Things to make your cabins and chill zone cozy: Lights, art work, cushions, thermarests, etc.; Musical Instruments: Guitar, Drums, Shakers; Fun Stuff: Fishing gear, a Rocket ( For the launch); Travel Mugs: Please bring your own mug for drinks.

All meals are included in the ticket price, but you may want to bring any specialty foods you need or enjoy and want to share.

A: Cabins (with bunk beds) for the first 80 people; Wash house with showers and flush toilets; Communal Hall and Dining Room; Chill and healing arts space; Sauna on the lake shore; First Aid Room with Level 3 Kit and attendant; Snowy forest hikes on surrounding Crown Lands; Swimming area(for the Hardy); Fire Pit Area and Tipi’s

Q: Is internet access available?

A: There is no internet access at the event site, though a connection can be found nearby if absolutely necessary.

Q: Are there any discounts for Volunteers?

A:  Pollination is an intentional gathering, we ask that all participants come with an open mind, open heart and willingness to contribute to the event.  The more you are able to bring, share and give at this event the more you are able to take away through the connections you make and energy you share.  The Cariboo Dreamcatcher Collective will consider sponsorship to the pollination event on a person by person basis so please get in contact with us if you will require assistance.

Q: Is car pooling available?

A: Car pooling is highly recommended! Tribe.net has hosted a page for the Pollination Gathering on which information, ideas and ride sharing can be posted: Pollination Tribe.

There is also a Facebook group created for the Cariboo Dreamcatcher Collective.  In this group page there is a wall where you can communicate with other members of the group. 

Q: Can I bring my kids?

A: Of course! Please feel free to bring the little ones, very much encouraged to fill out the multi-generational vibe. Family and quiet cabins are available upon request and special rate discounts for the young ones.

Q: How do you get to Gavin Lake, Pollination 2009?

A: Gavin Lake is about 60 km from Williams lake, the closest major centre. The camp is located 6.4 km off the paved Likely Highway on good gravel.

To reach the Centre from the south, turn right at 150 Mile House onto the Horsefly Road.  After 4 kms, turn left at the fork onto the Likely Highway (don't miss this turn!) and follow this for 44 km.  Then turn right at the Gavin Lake Forestry Centre and UBC/Alex Fraser Research Forest signs and follow this road for 6.4 kms.

When travelling from the north, turn left off Highway 97 at McLeese Lake onto Beaver Lake Road, and continue for 3.3 kms.  Turn right onto the gravel Beaver Lake Road.  Follow this route until it meets the Likely Highway (approx. 35 kms).  Turn north (left) for about 6 kms to the Gavin Lake Road.  Turn right, continue for 6.4 kms to the Centre. 

Q: Are we there yet?

A: Gavin Lake is in a semi-remote area of the BC interior. The drive may seem long but the air is guaranteed to be fresh and the ambience quiet (until Sat. night!). Please take your time, drive carefully, and enjoy the scenery - why else are we here if not to smell the flowers?

Driving times:

From Vancouver: 7 - 8 hours, with stops.

From Prince George: 3.5 hours

From Kamloops: 4 hours

From Williams Lake: 45 minutes
